Brophy's Fine Art Oil Painting Gallery
Featured Artist - Arlene Gade
Arlene Gade moved to Cape Cod from New York in 2000. Like so many artists before her, she was enchanted by the quality of the light on the Outer Cape.
Arlene previously studied Fine Arts at The University of Michigan and New York University where she received her B.A. degree. She studied traditional painting techniques with many of Ridgewood Art Institute's fine artists. Mastering landscapes, still life and portraits resulted in a well-rounded and proficient background in classical painting. Her style is unusual because it combines both color and tone in an exciting manner.
Further study of color and Impressionism was taken with Lois Griffel of The Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, MA. Arlene also studied with local artists Cynthia Packard and Ann Hartley. Her paintings are in numerous private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Europe.
